I’m starting this blog because I love running. I want to think about it, and I want to talk about it. Running however has a bad rap. Running is often seen as a practice that always results in injury, and simply “isn’t good for you.” I can honestly see why so many people think this way, but with some discussion you’ll learn the way we see running as physical therapists.

First things first though. Let me introduce myself. My name is Dr. Ben, and I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy. This degree includes many years of anatomy, physiology, neurology, exercise science. 7 years of studying in fact. It was pretty grueling, BUT I LOVED TO LEARN IT ALL!

I have been a practicing Physical Therapist for over 8 years. In all of that time I have come to realize that I love working with runners. I love figuring out all of the little problems they have and difficulties they have to overcome. Running can be hard on the body, even in the best scenarios, and damaging in the worst scenarios.

When I look around at people running out in the public, I often see problems. I want to help.

This blog will be covering topics as varied as running injury, running history, current events in running, and maybe even some gear reviews of things I really love, or really do not love.
